Closure of La Jolla Practice – Effective August 31, 2025

We are writing to inform you that our medical office at 9834 Genesee Ave, Ste. 100, La Jolla, CA 92037 will permanently close on August 31, 2025. It has been a privilege to be part of your healthcare journey, and we deeply appreciate the trust you have placed in us over the years.

After almost 56 unforgettable years in the field of plastic surgery, I have made the heartfelt decision to retire from active practice.

It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to care for patients, helping individuals heal, rebuild and rediscover confidence in themselves. I am profoundly grateful for the trust you have placed in me over the decades. That trust has been the foundation of everything I’ve done as a surgeon.

But my journey has never been just about the operating room. I’ve been equally honored to serve alongside so many of you as a teacher, a colleague, and a fellow lifelong student of our ever-evolving art and science. Whether in academic halls, international conferences, surgical missions, or mentorships, I have cherished every opportunity to learn, to share, and to grow within this extraordinary community.

Serving in leadership roles, teaching the next generation of surgeons, and contributing to philanthropic efforts have been deeply meaningful chapters of my career. These experiences have enriched me both professionally and personally, and I carry those memories forward with great pride and humility.

As I step away from clinical surgical practice by the end of August, please know that my passion for this field remains as strong as ever. I look forward to staying connected as supporting the plastic surgery community in new and different ways. I have been asked to continue as Chief Medical Officer of the practice group and will continue to be available to my patients for follow-up and possible referral. I can be reached at (858) 455-2090.

Requesting Your Medical Records

You have the right to request a copy of your medical records or have them transferred to the provider of your choice. Until August 28, 2025, you can request your records in person at our office or via form at primeplasticsurgery.com/requests.

After August 28, 2025, please submit a written request to:

All record requests will be processed in accordance with HIPAA and California Health & Safety Code § 123100, which requires that copies be made available within 15 business days of your request.

While your medical records will be securely retained for at least seven (7) years, and for minor patients until one year after reaching age 18, we recommend submitting your request within the next two years to ensure prompt access.
