In San Diego, beach season lasts all year round. With so much time spent in a swimsuit, you can easily waste hours of your week keeping up with all of the waxing, shaving, trimming, and plucking required to look and feel your best. If you’ve been toying with the idea of breaking up with your aesthetician and tossing your razor in the trash for good, you may be a perfect candidate for total body hair removal.
That’s right – we said total body. Just smooth, hairless skin from face to feet.*
With total body hair removal, stubbly legs and a neglected bikini line are things of the past. Not to mention, we can target your upper lip, back, underarms, toes, and everything in between. At Prime Med Spa, we’ve invested in the Quanta Forte Diode Laser to offer our clients laser hair removal literally anywhere on the body.* Yes, even “down there!” Nothing is off limits with our proprietary laser hair removal process.
How does total body laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal works by aiming an intense beam of light at unwanted body hair in a specific area, for example, your underarms. The pigment absorbs the light, damaging the hair follicle at its root to prevent those pesky suckers from growing back.* For this reason, laser hair removal has traditionally worked best on those with dark hair and a fair complexion. Not anymore! The advanced technology of the Prime Med Spa Light Star laser allows patients with light hair or dark skin to experience similar amazing results with minimal risk of discomfort or burns.*The beautiful thing about total body hair removal is that you don’t have to pick and choose which areas to have treated first. The Prime Med Spa Light Star features an wide-tipped, rapid firing hand piece that makes getting rid of unwanted body hair fast, safe and comfortable anywhere on the body, including:
- Center brow
- Brow line
- Hands and fingers
- Happy trail
- Bikini line
- Brazilian bikini
- Feet and toes
What to Expect from Total Body Hair Removal
At Prime Med Spa, many patients come to us concerned about the pain level associated with laser hair removal. Forget what you’ve heard! Prime Med Spa uses a variety of anesthetic techniques from cooling to topical numbing creams to make the treatment as comfortable as possible and, in many cases, completely painless.*
Following treatment, you may be surprised to look down and see that the stubble you arrived with is still in tact. Don’t feel discouraged. It often takes a few weeks for your body to shed the treated hair, but a majority of patients see dramatic results after their first session.*
Just keep in mind that you’ll need more than one treatment to get the results you want, as hair grows in cycles every three to eight weeks.*
Imagine never having to shave or wax unwanted body hair ever again. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? With total body hair removal, all those hours you currently spend grooming can be allocated towards something a lot more fun – like showing off your smooth, sexy body at the beach. For more information on total body laser hair removal at Prime Med Spa, give us a call
Frequently Asked Questions
Laser hair removal is a procedure which removes hair from the body utilizing a long pulse laser. The laser emits heat, which disables follicles from producing hair.* Since lasers target pigment, treatments are most effective on dark, coarse hair.*
Before the treatment, patients should not remove hair with the root using any other hair removal method for at least 6 weeks prior to their first session. This allows the laser to burn the follicle from the root.* The area to be treated should be shaved one day prior to your appointment. Treatments vary in length depending on desired area. Underarms take under 10 minutes, while full legs can take up to an hour.* After the treatment, it is recommended that patients apply an ice pack and/or cooled aloe vera gel to help soothe the skin. For most patients, shedding of hair will start 3 weeks following the treatment.*
Most patients require anywhere from 6 to 8 treatments spaced 3-6 weeks apart.* Shedding of hair should take place approximately 3 weeks after treatment.* Once it starts to regrow, patients should come in for their next session.
It is not recommended that you get laser hair removal over tattooed areas. It may cause fading, darkening or disfiguring of the tattoo. Simply notify our technician and he/she will cover it when the laser hits surrounding areas.
